IRMA P. URFER

Mrs. Irma P. Urfer, 74, of Malcom, formerly of Brooklyn, died Sunday, March 5, in her home in Malcom. Mrs. Urfer had moved the previous day from Brooklyn where she and her late husband, Paul Urfer, had lived many years.

Funeral services for Mrs. Urfer will be held at 10:30 a.m. March 8, in the First Presbyterian Church, Brooklyn. Rev. James B. Rea will officiate. The organist will be Mrs. Anita Ormiston and the soloist will be Mrs. Patty Lang. Special selections will be "In The Garden," "Wind Beneath My Wings," and "Always." Flower attendants will be Mr. and Mrs. William Miller and Mr. and Mrs. Dean Montgomery. Casket-bearers will be Sam Urfer, Ron Urfer, Don Urfer, Jim Urfer, Mick Clemens, and Frank Norton. Burial will be in the Brooklyn Cemetery.

A memorial fund has been established and may be left with the Nevenhoven Funeral Home.

Irma Pearl Rauch Urfer, daughter of William Rauch and Pearl Provin Rauch, was born July 21, 1920, at Victor.

Mrs. Urfer received her education in schools in Thornburg, Victor, and Brooklyn and was a graduate of the Brooklyn High School. She was united in marriage to Paul Gordon Urfer in the home of her parents in Brooklyn Aug. 25, 1940. They made their home in Brooklyn. Mrs. Urfer taught school briefly following graduation from high school. She was a cook at various restaurants in Brooklyn and cooked breakfast for a number of years for the Kiwanis Club.

Mrs. Urfer was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Brooklyn, Royal Neighbors of America and Pythian Sisters.

Surviving are her daughter and her husband, Sarah Catherine and Steve Heck of Brooklyn; her two sons, Richard Paul Urfer of Montezuma and Dennis Eugene Urfer of Brooklyn; her mother, Mrs. Pearl Rauch of Thornburg; one sister, Mrs. Fern Marie Clemens of Thornburg; and three grandchildren, Steven Paul Heck, Diane Marie Urfer, and Sonya Michelle Heck.

Mrs. Urfer was preceded in death by her father and her husband who died Oct. 6, 1994.
