Obituary dated June 20, 1924

W.H. NAYLOR FUNERAL WAS HELD YESTERDAY

Short Prayer Services at Home Conducted by Rev. Mr. Todd.

W.H. Naylor was born in Yadkin county, North Carolina, December 27, 1846 and left this life June 17, 1924, age 77 years, 3 months and 20 days. At the age of 21, he with relatives came from North Carolina to Iowa, driving in covered wagons. In 1871 he was united in marriage to Mary Vestal and to this union eight children were born, two dying in infancy. Those living are: Mrs. W.W. Fry, Mrs. C.M. Priddy, Claud V., Raymond L., Verta May and Vera Novella. He also leaves four brothers and one sister. His wife preceded him to the heavenly home eleven years ago.

Mr. Naylor united with the church at an early age and has been consistent and faithful in his Christian belief. His father was a Methodist minister as was also his grandfather. He was a kind and loving father and husband, always thinking of the good he could do for others. He lived a simple and busy life and found joy and happiness in it. His last days of illness were filled with implicit trust and confidence in his heavenly Father.

Short prayer services were held at the home at 10 o'clock Thursday morning. Funeral services, conducted by Rev. W.J. Todd of the Methodist Church, were held at the Blue Point Church at 11 o'clock. Interment was made in the Blue Point cemetery.
