MRS. WILLIAM GLEASON FUNERAL HELD FEB. 10 IN NEW SHARON

Services for Mrs. William Gleason, 96, were February 10 at the Methodist Church in New Sharon. The Rev. Jerry Brown presided, and music was by Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Hull and Mrs. Floyd De Boef. Burial was in Searsboro Cemetery.

Casket bearers were Warren Porter, Wilbur Allen, Max Allen, Paul Main, Lowell Meredith, and Devern Meredith.

Mrs. Gleason, born Julia Ann Dearinger on Nov. 25, 1868, near Galesburg, was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Dearinger. She moved to Poweshiek County with her parents when she was quite young. On Feb. 29, 1892, she was married to William Gleason by Fr. Jonah O'Farrell in Searsboro. Shortly afterward the couple moved to the home where Mrs. Gleason spent the remainder of her life, over seventy years. Mr. Gleason died in 1943.

Surviving are four children: John Gleason, Chalmer Gleason, Mrs. Joe Porter, and Mrs. Afton Allen, all of rural Searsboro. Other survivors are her sister, Mrs. Hettie Naylor, Newton, four grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren.
