LOIS ELIZABETH TAYLOR

Lois Elizabeth Taylor, 86, of Montezuma died Monday, Dec. 24, at Mayflower Homes in Grinnell.

A funeral service was held Friday, Dec. 28, at Watts Funeral Home in Montezuma. Memorials in her name may be designated to Grinnell Regional Hospice and left at the funeral home.

The daughter of Hanley Clements and Lewie I. Saunders, she was born Oct. 29, 1921, in New Sharon. She graduated from New Sharon Senior High School. She was married to Verle Glenn Brown in 1941 in Missouri. To this union were born three children, Ronald Lee, Linda R. and Billie Jo. On June 10, 1948, she was married to Harold W. Taylor in Lancaster, Mo. To this union was born one son, Marvin. She owned and operated Taylor's Tavern, and worked as a clerk at the Montezuma Sales Barn. She was a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary, serving as president of Chapter No. 8876 from 1995 to 2005, also serving as district chaplain for one year. She also was a member of the 50+ Lunch Club and the Sexy Senior Citizens.

She is survived by two daughters, Linda R. Tarvin of Montezuma and Billie Jo Ladely of Grinnell; four grandchildren; nine great grandchildren, and one brother, Joseph Clements of Arizona. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son Marvin Taylor in infancy and a son Ronald Lee Brown.
