VERA I. DEEDRICK

Vera I. Deedrick, 72, 1706 Fourth Avenue, died Friday, Oct. 28, at Grinnell Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 31, at St. John's Lutheran Church with the Rev. David Hagstrom, interim pastor of the church, officiating. Organist was Margaret Amo. Burial was in Hazelwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the church.

The daughter of Aaron and Edith Meyer Steen, she was born Aug. 8, 1922, at Emmetsburg. Her family moved to Grinnell where she attended the Grinnell schools, later working in the food service at Grinnell College until her retirement in 1987.

She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and the Mary Martha Circle and Autumn Leaves group of the church.

She is survived by her sister Dorothy Ahlrichs, Monticello, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; her foster parents, Fred and Anna Deedrick, and two brothers, John and Donald Steen.
