FUNERAL OF MRS. EDITH M. STEEN MONDAY

Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon at the United Presbyterian church for Mrs. Edith M. Steen, who died Friday night in a local hospital. Following the services, which were under the charge of her pastor, the Rev. W.J. Stewart, the interment was in Hazelwood cemetery.

Edith Margaret Meyer was born on February 7, *1889, at Sheridan, and died at a hospital in Grinnell Friday night, July 5.

She was married in August of 1921 to Aaron Steen. To this union four children were born. One, Donald, died in infancy. The living children are Vera, John, and Dorothy. Mrs. Steen is also survived by two brothers, John and Henry of Malcom, and three sisters, Mrs. Anna Deedrick and Mrs. Mary Ahrens of Grinnell, and Mrs. Rose Haynes of Gilman.

Mrs. Steen was baptized and confirmed in Trinity Lutheran church, and identified herself with the United Presbyterian church when she moved to Grinnell seven years ago. She was a faithful attendant of the O.T.T. class, and a willing worker.

Mrs. Steen's many friends will remember her as a woman who considered no personal sacrifice too great for the comfort, happiness and training of her children, and as a woman whose high character was an inspiration for those who knew her.
