FUNERAL CONDUCTED FOR E.E. ORMISTON

Last rites for E.E. Ormiston, 84, were conducted Sunday afternoon at two o'clock at Brammer Funeral Home in charge of the Rev. M.C. Shupe, pastor of Grace Methodist church. Leo Shuler was organist. Interment was in I.O.O.F. cemetery with Fred Carlson, Nelson Korns, Edward Wilde, Wallace Ryan, Wallace Edelen and Harry Tinker serving as pallbearers.

Mr. Ormiston, a Brooklyn resident for many years, died last Friday at Community hospital in Grinnell where he had been a patient a short time. For the past several months he had lived in a rest hoome in Grinnell.

Edward Ernest Ormiston, son of Dr. John S. and Ellen McDonald Ormiston, was born April 27, 1873, at Brooklyn, Iowa and died Sept. 13, 1957, at Grinnell, Iowa. He was the oldest of four children. He lived in Chelsea in his early life where he attended school. He became a member of the Presbyterian church at a young age.

He was married Jan. 1, 1896, to Mary Ostrom of Hartwick and two daughters, Gladys and Ruth were born to the couple. The couple lived in the Hartwick community and later moved to Brooklyn.

Mr. Ormiston was a carpenter for many years. He was a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows and took an active interest in its activities as long as his health permitted.

He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Cliff (Gladys) Williamson of Brooklyn and Mrs. Lloyd (Ruth) Lambert of Hartwick; two grandchildren, Mrs. Alyce Vermace of Hartwick and Vernon Williamson of Clinton, Ill., and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, who died Oct. 21, 1941; his parents; one brother, Carl Ormiston; two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Raley and Mrs. Jennie Reed; two grandsons and one great-granddaughter.
