MRS. ORMISTON DIED SEPT. 21 AT GRINNELL HOSP.

Hartwick lost another of its life-time citizens when Mrs. Mary Ormiston died at the Community Hospital in Grinnell on September 21st, at 4 p.m.

On July 4th she had the misfortune to fall from a chair and break her hip. She was immediately taken to the hospital where she remained until the time of her death.

Mrs. Ormiston was born on a farm near Hartwick on November 20, 1870, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Ostrom, and died at the age of 70 years, 10 months and 1 day.

She grew up to womanhood on the farm, and on January 1, 1896 she was united in marriage to E.E. Ormiston at Montezuma. To them were born two daughters, Mrs. Gladys Williamson of Brooklyn and Mrs. Ruth Lambert of Hartwick.

Since the death of her parents, she was a devoted companion to her brother, Murray Ostrom, who preceded her in death in February of this year.

She was a kind and loving mother and neighbor, and was active up to the time of her fall.

Besides her two daughters she leaves to mourn, two brothers, A.R. Ostrom and F.G. Ostrom, one sister, Mrs. Wm. Dixon, three grandchildren and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held at the Hartwick Congregational church on Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, with the Rev. B.W. Northrup officiating.

Mrs. Calvin Korns and Mrs. Everett Korns sang, accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Virgil Sherwood.

Pall bearers, nephews of the deceased, were Guy and George Dixon, Jim Ostrom, Charles Ostrom, Ray Ostrom and Percy Ostrom. Burial was in the Hartwick cemetery.
