ROLLA WARREN SMITH

Rolla Warren Smith, 93, of Montezuma, died June 30, 1988, at the Montezuma Senior Home.

Rolla was born Sept. 10, 1894, in Poweshiek County and lived in the Montezuma area for 48 years. He was one of six sons born to Harvey and Rosalee Decker Smith. On March 10, 1920, he married Dorothy Ostrom, at Newton. He was a retired farmer and carpenter.

Surviving are his wife Dorothy, of Sunnyview Apartments; one daughter, Mildred Gass of Montezuma; and one son and his wife, Warren and Marvel Smith of DeWitt; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Graveside Funeral Services were July 2, Jackson Township Cemetery, Montezuma. Officiating was Rev. John Darlington. Interment was at Jackson Township Cemetery, Montezuma, Ia. Arrangements were by Watts Funeral Home.
