EDNA OSTROM RYAN

Edna Rebecca Ostrom Ryan, daughter of Fred and Maria Housman Ostrom, was born Jan. 19, 1899, in Hartwick. She attended the Hartwick School where she was graduated in 1916. On Nov. 17, 1921, she was united in marriage to Joseph Ryan in Newton. They farmed south of Brooklyn from 1923 to 1963 when they moved into Brooklyn.

Mrs. Ryan was a member of the Francis Gallagher American Legion Auxiliary and the Rebekah Lodge.

Surviving are one son, Max, of Brooklyn; two daughters, Mrs. Maxine Wenger of Brooklyn and Marjorie, Mrs. Francis Cannon of Brooklyn; two sisters, Dorothy, Mrs. Rolla Smith of Montezuma and Margaret, Mrs. Delmar Heishman of Brooklyn; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband who died in 1967, 1 grandson, 3 brothers and 4 sisters.
