MRS. OSTROM RITES HELD

Dies May 25 After Lingering Illness

Funeral services for Mrs. Charles Ostrom, who died at St. Francis hospital, Grinnell, May 25, following a long illness, were conducted from the Congregational church at Hartwick last Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock.

Services were in charge of the Rev. Byron Northrup,of Baxter, former pastor of the church. Harold Cole sang two solos, accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Harold Carlson.

Burial was in the Hartwick cemetery. The following served as pallbearers: Wallace Ryan, Oscar Messerli, Lloyd Lambert, Hobart Powell, Asiel DeRycke and Fritz Roth.

The daughter of Walter and Arbanna Torrance, Mrs. Ostrom was born near Hartwick, April 30, 1899. She attended Victor high school, graduating in 1915. April 24, 1920, she was married to Charles Ostrom and the couple moved to a farm near Hartwick where they had since made their home.

She was a member of the Hartwick Congregational church and of the Ladies Aid Society.

Mrs. Ostrom had been ill for some time and for the past three months she had been a patient at the Grinnell hospital.

Surviving are her husband and two children, Bruce and Joyce; her father, and four sisters, Mrs. Virgil Sherwood of Malcom, Mrs. Max Clements and Carol and Marilyn Torrance of Grinnell.
