MRS. FRED FARMER PASSES AWAY JAN. 19 IN MONTEZUMA

Charlotte Abigail, youngest daughter of Joseph W. and Evy Jane Billingsley Tinker was born Oct. 11, 1869 on a farm north of Malcom and departed this life Jan. 10, 1943 at the home of Mrs. E.W.T. Peterson in Montezuma at the age of 73 years, 3 months and 8 days.

She was united in marriage Dec. 17, 1891 to Fred A. Farmer of Forest Home, who preceded her in death on Nov. 15, 1940.

She spent most of her life in Poweshiek county with the exception of a few years spent in Des Moines.

She was the last of a family of 9 children. She leaves to mourn a number of nieces and nephews and great, great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held from the Ross Funeral Home in Montezuma on Thursday, Jan. 21, at 2 o'clock in charge of Rev. Spurlock of the Malcom M.E. church.

Music was furnished by Mrs. Bernice Smith, who, accompanied by her mother, Mrs. Earl Story sang two selections, "Shall We Gather at the River" and "No Night There." Pall bearers were: John Morrison, Thos. Sanders, Ben Sanders, Cliff Meldrem, Orris Tuttle and Ernest Story.

Burial was in Ivy Hill cemetery.
