CECIL ABBOTT SERVICES SET

Services will be held today (Thursday) at 2 p.m. at the Grinnell Christian Church for Cecil A. Abbott, 64.

Mr. Abbott died Monday morning, Sept. 10, at the Clear Lake Hospital in Webster, Tex.

Son of Joseph G. and Florence A. Hull Abbott, Mr. Abbott was born Nov. 7, 1908, at Phillipsburg, Kan. He attended the Manhattan Bible College at Manhattan, Kan.

He was married to Erma McCord on Nov. 4, 1930, at Agra, Kan.

Mr. Abbott has been a resident of Newton since 1960. He has served several Iowa Churches, including the Church of Christ in Montezuma. He was also a member of the Grinnell Christian Church, and an elder emeritus of that church.

Mr. Abbott is survived by his wife; four sons; two daughters, Mrs. Chester (Jolene) Jones of Kellogg, and Mrs. Robert (Valeta) Brown of Grinnell; three brothers; four sisters; and 15 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Horace Schaffner, pastor, will officiate at the services. Burial will be in the Newton Union Cemetery.
