S. BRUNER DIES

Former Resident of Grinnell Dies in Kansas City at the Age of Ninety-Three.

From the Tama News-Herald we learn of the death last Monday of S. Bruner, for many years a resident of Grinnell, owner and operator of the mill known then as the Bruner Mill, where the Presbyterian Church now stands. The News-Herald says:

"Edgar Bruner of Toledo received a dispatch announcing the death Monday night at his home in Kansas City of Samuel Bruner, aged 93, a pioneer resident of Tama, his home formerly being in a house on the site of the present Methodist parsonage. He also for a time made his home north of Toledo. Mr. Bruner left Tama some forty years ago.

"A strange coincidence lies in the fact that while this aged man was on his death bed a frame building he had erected in Tama more than fifty years ago was being razed.

"The structure on State street, torn down two weeks ago by W.H. Ahlbrecht to be replaced by a modern brick structure, was built by Mr. Bruner in the early days of the town."

Surviving Mr. Bruner are his wife, his sons Allan of Kansas City and Ed. Bruner of Honduras, and his daughter Mrs. Nettie Murray of Kansas City.
