MR. VAN BRUG SERVICES SET

Jerry H. Van Brug, 78, of 828 Park St., Grinnell, died Wednesday morning at Grinnell General Hospital.

Funeral services are set for 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Smith Funeral Home, with burial at the Grundy Center cemetery.

He was born Aug. 19, 1902, in The Netherlands and came to the U.S. in 1920. He was married to Ella Ables on July 10, 1935, in Grundy Center. The couple owned and operated a furniture store during World War II, then farmed north of Cedar Falls until 1967 when they came to Grinnell. Mr. Van Brug was a retired claims adjustor for Grinnell Mutual Reinsurance Co.

He is survived by his wife, Ella; a son, Allen Van Brug of Cedar Falls; two grandchildren; and a brother and sister in The Netherlands.

He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter, Cora; and three sisters.
