GEROLD COWAN
Gerold Cowan, 69, of Searcy, Ark., died at his home Friday, Dec. 19.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville, with the Rev. Carl Heien of the Drake Ave. Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Cincinnati, Iowa.
He was the son of Lee and Coral Inskeep Cowan and was born July 13, 1928, in Omaha, Mo. He received his education in the Denver, Ark., area.
He was married to Bonnie Dorsett Oct. 3, 1947, in Centerville. They farmed for 16 years in the Judsonia, Ark., area until 1983. They moved to Searcy in October of this year.
Mr. Cowan is survived by his wife; one son, Nick of League City, Texas; his daughters, Jeannie Wittneben of Newton, Valery Thompson of Nevada and Paulette Johannes of Judsonia; his mother, Coral Maine of Unionville, Mo.; his sisters, Ethel Laughary of Creve Couer, Ill., and Margie McCarthy of Omaha, Neb.; his brothers, Gene of Unionville and Jack of Linneus, Mo.; 14 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father; one son, Gerold Jr.; one grandson; and one brother, Kermit.
