PAUL J. SIECK
Paul J. Sieck, 68, of 438 First Ave., Grinnell, died of cancer Friday, April 11, at Grinnell Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church near Malcom, with the Rev. Herb J. Knudten officiating. Organist was Susie Edelen, and vocalist was Nicole Maschmann. Casket bearers were his nephews, Brent, Craig, Gary, Glen, Kevin, Randy, Rodney, Rusty, Scott and Troy Sieck. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, with the Smith Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
The family will be present at the funeral home from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday.
He was the son of Louis and Josephine Kriegel Sieck and was born Aug. 26, 1928, in Grinnell. He was raised on the family farm and attended rural schools. Following his education he served with the U.S. Marine Corps aboard the USS Chicago in the Pacific Ocean.
He was married to Marceil R. Snodgrass July 7, 1950, at Montezuma. The couple lived in California, and he served with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Following his discharge in 1953, the couple moved to Grinnell where he worked in the trucking business. He recently owned and operated P & M Recreational Vehicle Sales. He was a member of the Grinnell Elks Lodge.
Surviving are his wife; one daughter, Debbie Lidtka of Grinnell; three granddaughters; and four brothers, Melvin, Lloyd and Ron, all of Grinnell, and Wayne of Amarillo, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Marty.
