ALFRED TINKLE, 71, DIES JUNE 4
Funeral services were held yesterday (Wednesday) for Alfred E. Tinkle, 71, of Malcom.
The Rev. Mr. Austin Rugger officiated at the services, held at the United Methodist Church in Malcom. Burial followed in the Ivy Hill Cemetery in Malcom.
Tinkle was born Nov. 20, 1900, and died June 4 at Grinnell General Hospital.
He is survived by his wife, the former Geneva Meldrem; six children, Betty Story of Malcom, William of Grinnell, Bonnie Ward of Memphis, Mo., Vernon of Waukee, Ia., Verlon of Grinnell, and Rosanne Lindenman of Barnes City; 29 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Walter of Brooklyn; and a sister, Hazel Guddendorf of Hayward, Wis.
Pallbearers were Bill and Steve Tinkle, Roy Story, LaVerne Cunningham, and Chuck, Ray, and Jim Ward.
The Steffy Funeral Home in Montezuma made arrangements for the funeral.
