WALTER A. TINKLE DIES AT HOSPITAL

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday (July 18) at the Nevenhoven Funeral Home in Brooklyn for Walter A. Tinkle, 76, of 215 Brady in Brooklyn who died early Sunday morning (July 16) at Grinnell General Hospital.

The Rev. Richard Menzel, pastor of the Presbyterian Church in Brooklyn, officiated at the services.

Burial was in the IOOF Cemetery in Brooklyn.

The son of Isaac and Stella Cheny Tinkle, Mr. Tinkle was born July 2, 1896, in Millersburg, Iowa.

On Feb.20, 1922, he married Beulah Mowrey at Montezuma.

Mr. Tinkle was a self-employed carpenter and was semi-retired at the time of his death.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Dale (Donna) Short of Bondurant; one son, Marvin Tinkle of Grinnell; two grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Hazel Guddendorf of Hayward, Wis.

Mr. Tinkle ws preceded in death by his parents; his wife in 1970; two brothers and one son.
