BROOKLYN SERVICES HELD MONDAY FOR GROVER E. EISELE

Services were held at Brooklyn, Monday, May 28th for Grover E. Eisele, prominent county farmer who died last Saturday.

Rev. Gerrington, assisted by Rev. Holler, officiated at the final services. Graveside services were conductd by the Masonic Lodge at Ivy Hill cemetery in Malcom, place of interment.

Pallbearers were Clyde Swift, Clarence Appleby, Ward Puls, Kenneth Halstead, Ralph Wentzel and Morris Brewer.

Active in civic, political, business and fraternal interests, Eisele was the first president of the Poweshiek County Farm Bureau. He also served two terms as a county supervisor and briefly served as Malcom postmaster.

Born in Malcom Township on July 1st, 1887, he was the son of Joseph and Frances Schultz Eisele. In infancy, he was baptized in the Lutheran faith.

He was united in marriage with Vera Lucinda Boyd and to this union were born two children, Joseph of Brea, Calif., and Kathryn Landtiser of Pico, Calif. His wife preceded him in death on January 4, 1927.

A member of the Masonic order for 47 years, he was also a member of Grinnell lodge 1266, BPOE and was also an inactive member of the Shriners.

In addition to his two children, survivors include four grandchildren, two great grandchildren and two sisters.
