When Vera was a very small child, only one and one half years old, her mother passed on, leaving Mr. Boyd with three small children to care for.

Later, Mr. Boyd was again married to Carrie Cady, of Malcom, who accepted these children as her very own and under whose wise guidance and thoughtful care Vera grew to young womanhood. During her girlhood Vera was one of the first to promote and enjoy all social activities.

Vera obtained her education in the schools of Malcom, graduating from high school with the class of 1906, and later attending School of Music at Grinnell College.

She was married on the 5th day of January, 1910, to Grover E. Eisele, of Malcom. To this union two children were born: Joseph Boyd, who is 15 years of age, and Kathryn Viola, who is 9.

They resided in the town of Malcom for 18 months and then moved to his father's farm, where they have since lived.

Mrs. Eisele was a lady of the highest type and character, loved and respected by all who knew her. She was a loving and devoted wife, a kind and thougtful mother and a friend indeed to her neighbors. She was a member of the O.E.S. No. 477 and was a past matron of this order.

She leaves to mourn her loss, besides the stricken husband and children, her foster mother, Mrs. Carrie Boyd of Malcom, one brother, Atty. R.W. Boyd of Montezuma, Iowa; her father, mother and one brother, Arthur having preceded her in death; and a whole host of friends.

Mrs. Eisele will be greatly missed in this community, through her musical ability. She was every ready to take part in all of the social, musical and general welfare activities of the community.

Funeral services were conducted at the home on Thursday afternoon by the Rev. Mr. Auckerman of Malcom and at the grave by the O.E.S.

Two songs were sung by Mrs. E.B.T. Spencer, which were "Eye Hath Not Seen" and "Come Unto Me."

Pall bearers were Harry Eisele, Wm. Schneckloth, Lou Maxfield, Harley Booknau, Harry McMurray and Howard Dimit, all intimate friends of the family.

NOTE: The Rev.'s surname is spelled as Aukerman and Auckerman in this obituary.
