SERVICES TUESDAY FOR DARYL EAMES

Daryl Eames, 56, of 1328 West St., Grinnell, died early Sunday morning at a nursing home in Ida Grove, Iowa.

The son of Thomas and Dena Strand Eames, Mr. Eames was born near LeGrand, Iowa, on March 14, 1913. His family moved to the Newburg and Gilman communities when he was a boy and he attended school near his home.

On Feb. 15, 1936, he married Alice Mayo in Des Moines and to this marriage four children were born.

Following their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Eames lived near State Center, Iowa, for seven years and then, in 1943, moved to the Chester community north of Grinnell to farm. In 1953, they moved to Grinnell where they have since resided. Mr. Eames was a member of the First Baptist Church in Grinnell.

Survivors include his wife, Alice; four children--Mrs. Darrell (Barbara) Callison of Blackfoot, Idaho, Mrs. Wally (Nancy) Wittenburg of Wyndmere, N. Dak., Mrs. Allen (Joyce) Schlosser of Sioux Falls, S. Dak., and Mrs. Robert (Dolly) Pearce of Grinnell; his mother, Mrs. Dena Eames of Grinnell; 10 grandchildren; one brother, Carroll (Bus) Eames of Gilman, and one sister, Mrs. Martha Hotchkin of Grinnell.

Mr. Eames was preceded in death by his father in 1944 and an infant son, Daryl Mayo Eames.

Funeral services for Mr. Eames will be held at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow (Tuesday, Dec. 23) at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Hugh A. Shiveley, minister of the church, officiating.

Organist will be James Severe. Pallbearers will be Farrell Siehl, Dick Sears, Clair Strand, Wilbur Osland, Ervin McClure and John Thorson. Flower bearers will be Mrs. Mildred Jones and Mrs. Carroll Shields.

Burial will be in the Chester Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home.
