MRS. ELOUISA BYERS PASSES IN BROOKLYN
(From The Brooklyn Chronicle) 5/31 1932

Mrs. Elouisa Byers died at her home in Brooklyn early Saturday morning following an illness of several months.

Mrs. Byers was, until her last illness, one of the most active women of her years in Brooklyn. She was active in every sort of good work and her greatest interest perhaps was in the G.A.R. and W.R.C. work. Her husband was a Civil war soldier and during his lifetime and following it she took a great interest and responsibility for this work.

She has held state offices in the W.R.C. and has attended numerous national conventions as well as, of course, many more district and state gatherings of the G.A.R.'s and W.R.C.'s. In these circles she was well known and held in high esteem.

She was an independent and cheery woman, true friend, and a woman who did much good in her lifetime, and whose death will be mourned by relatives both here and elsewhere and by many, many friends.
