MRS. N.O. PILGRIM

On Sunday evening, May 3, while the sun was slowly sinking below the western horizon, Mrs. Carrie Dunlap Pilgrim heard the Master's call to the heavenly home and to the mansion prepared for her and in response to that summons she gently and peacefully slipped away from the home of earth to be with her Lord and there to abide forever. She had not enjoyed very good health for some time, yet it was only during the past few weeks she was confined to her bed, but during the past few days she grew steadily worse until the end came.

The deceased was born in the vicinity of Grinnell March 8, 1870, where she spent her girlhood, youth and womanhood; in fact this city and surrounding country have been the scenes of her earthly pilgrimage, surrounded by her loved ones and a host of faithful friends. She was united in marriage to Norman O. Pilgrim, Jan. 27, 1892. To them were born *two children, a little girl, aged four, and a baby boy, two years of age.

Mrs. Pilgrim united with the First Baptist church of this city February (??), 1893, of which she remained a faithful member. She was an earnest Christian and a consistent follower of her Lord in all things. She was truly loved by all who knew her, and she will be greatly missed by a large circle of friends and neighbors, together with the membership of the church.

She leaves to mourn an irreparable loss a husband, two children, a father, four sisters and one brother, all of whom are sorely bereaved and have the sympathy of all who know them.

"Let all who are sad take heart again;
We are not alone in our hours of pain;
Our Father stoops from his throne
above
To soothe and quiet us with His love;
He leaves us not when the storm is
high;
And we have safety, for He is nigh;
Can there be trouble which He doth
not share?
Oh, rest in peace, for the Lord does
care!"

Funeral services will be conducted by her pastor, Rev. J. Arthur Hurley, at the First Baptist church, Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Interment at Hazelwood cemetery.

*Transcriber Note: Her children's names were Lola Elizabeth and Glenn Edwin Pilgrim, who are also buried in Hazelwood Cem., Grinnell, Iowa
