ALBERT GRIMM DIES IN NEWTON

Albert L. Grimm, 59, of 202 East 18th St. N., Newton, formerly of Grinnell, died Sunday, Oct. 2, at Skiff Memorial Hospital in Newton.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First Assembly of God Church at Newton, with the Rev. Robert L. Stewart officiating. Burial was at Newton Memorial Gardens, with graveside rites conducted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

The Haven of Rest Funeral Home of Newton was in charge of arrangements.

The son of Eddie Q. and Bessie V. Grimm, he was born June 27, 1924, at Millersburg. He attended North English schools, graduating from North English High School.

Mr. Grimm lived in Grinnell prior to moving to Newton two years ago.

He is survived by his wife, Ardath Grimm; one son, David Grimm of Ottumwa; one daughter, Connie Humphrey of Gilman; one granddaughter; his mother; a twin brother, Alfred Grimm of Newton; and five sisters, Una Walsh of Cedar Rapids, Zelma Harl of Kellogg, Donna Albee of Santa Rosa, Calif., Norma Jean Nichols of Des Moines and Doris Deppe of Oskaloosa.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Mr. Grimm was a member of the First Assembly of God Church, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Oddfellows Lodge. He had worked as a production coordinator at the Maytag Co., retiring in September 1976.
