HOWARD F. LIPPINCOTT

Howard Franklyn Lippincott, son of Samuel Ray and Agnes Belle Lippincott, passed away following a long illness, Sunday, January 17, 1960, at Veteran's Memorial Hospital in Iowa City. He was 50 years, 8 months, 22 days of age.

He was born April 27, 1909, in Iowa City, and he grew to manhood in the Brooklyn community. He attended the public schools.

Howard Lippincott was united in marriage to Leora Marie Fogel at Malcom on June 5, 1934. One daughter was born to the home.

Mr. Lippincott was associated with the Farmers Elevator Company in Malcom and he served in the United States Navy during World War II. He loved sports and the outdoor world. He was a member of the Legion at Brooklyn. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.

He is survived by his companion Mrs. Leora Lippincott and his daughter Sandra Corrine, both in the home in Malcom. Other survivors include five brothers, John of Eldon, Iowa; Russell and Charles both of Belle Plaine; Dale and Dean both of Brooklyn; five sisters, Florence, Mrs. Charles Curran, Iowa City; Evelyn, Mrs. Cecil Peterson, Decorah; Lillian, Mrs. Leo Bacon, Brooklyn; Verna Mae, Mrs. R.B. Clute, Coggon; and Virginia, Mrs. Robert Gingerich, Iowa City. There are aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and many cousins who survive.

Services were held Jan. 20th from the Bramer Funeral Home in Brooklyn with the Rev. C.E. Kingsley officiating. Organ music was furnished by Nina Bartachek and flower attendants were Mrs. Kathryn Cummings and Mrs. Nellie Farley.

Pallbearers were Lester Smith, Kenneth McKeag, Ralph Wentzel, Larry Hall, James Puls and Walter Puls. Graveside military services were conducted by the Francis Gallagher American Legion Post of Brooklyn.

Interment was in Ivy Hill cemetery at Malcom.
