ROBERT F. MARING

Robert F. "Bob" Maring, 63, of Rte. 3, Grinnell, died of a heart attack Saturday, March 4, in the emergency room of Grinnell General Hospital.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. John Epperson of the Grinnell Christian Church officiating. Following services, the body will be cremated.

Memorials in Mr. Maring's name may be left at the funeral home.

The son of Charles Emory and Ruth Copeland Maring, he was born Nov. 18, 1925, on a farm near Ewart. He attended Grinnell schools, graduating from high school in 1943. He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict.

On Aug. 17, 1951, he was married to Leila Limbaugh. The couple lived on a farm northeast of Grinnell.

Mr. Maring was a member of the Elks Lodge, the Eagles and the American Legion.

He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Lana Woodside of Milwaukee, Wis., and Linda Heishman of Grinnell; one son, Charles E. Maring III of Industry, Pa.; five grandchildren; his mother, Ruth Maring of Grinnell; a sister, Barbara "Sally" McKinnon of Tacoma, Wash.; and one brother, Gary Maring of Grinnell. He was preceded in death by his father and a brother Charles Jr., a fighter pilot killed over Germany in 1944.
