NAOMI HEITINK

Naomi Jean Heitink, 59, of Atlantic, formerly of Grinnell, died Monday, Sept. 11, in Atlantic.

Funeral services were conducted Thursday at the First United Methodist Church of Atlantic, with the Revs. James King and Kirk Stump officiating. Burial was in Atlantic Cemetery.

The daughter of C.W. and Dorothy Ruth LaRue Beggs Vanderlinden, she was born Dec. 8, 1929, at Bloomfield and was raised on a farm near Promise City. She attended Hickory Ridge School at Promise City and Seymour High School.

She graduated from Iowa School of Cosmetology in Des Moines in 1949 and worked as a beautician in Grinnell for 10 years.

On June 25, 1950, she was married to Gerald Heitink in Grinnell, and they lived here until moving to Atlantic in 1963. Mrs. Heitink was employed at Valley Restaurant and Spurgeon's in Atlantic. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and B.P.O. Does.

Surviving are her husband; two daughters, Becky Kramer of Thornton, Colo., and Denise Masker of Atlantic; seven grandchildren; her mother, Ruth Vanderlinden of Colfax; two sisters, JoAnn Vanderlinden of Seymour and Charlotte Hysell of Colfax; and a brother, Bill Vanderlinden of Seymour.

She was preceded in death by her father and a son, Douglas.
