LEONARD ROBISON

Leonard "Doc" Robison, 69, of 1422 Spencer St. died Wednesday, Dec. 9, at Grinnell General Hospital.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Lon Lewis, pastor of the Grinnell United Methodist Church, officiating. Organist was Susan Todd.

Pallbearers were Tom Allen, Terry Gross, Dwight Keenan, Denny McNurlen, Dale Puls and Jim Rose. Honorary bearers were Willis Allen, Don Crawford, Keith Edelen, Kenneth Hannsen, Walt Lemke, Raymond Meldrem, John Moore, Steve Rutherford and Jack Smothers.

Burial was in Hazelwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the tree-planting program at Hazelwood Cemetery.

The son of James Leonard and Rose Marie Keenan Robison, he was born July 13, 1923, in Grinnell. He was raised on the family farm near Grinnell and graduated from Grinnell High School in 1942. Following his education he worked on the family farm and for local businesses.

He was married to Irene DeWitt June 13, 1951, in Grinnell. Mr. Robison worked as a press operator for the Donaldson Co., retiring in 1985 after 32 years. He was a member of United Auto Workers Union Local 1201.

Surviving are his wife; two sons, Duane of Des Moines and Mike of Grinnell; two daughters, Janna Hauersperger of Grinnell and Susan Burrell of Mission, Kan.; nine grandchildren; and one sister, Lenis Porter of Grinnell. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Alice Marie Bates.
