GRAHAM CLAYTON

Graham W. Clayton, 65, of Des Moines, formerly of Grinnell, died of a heart attack Wednesday, Nov. 7, at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday at Capital Hill Christian Church in Des Moines, with burial in Highland Memory Gardens there.

A native of Brooklyn, Mr. Clayton worked as a city parks official here and also operated a plumbing and heating business. He had moved to Des Moines 33 years ago. Mr. Clayton retired in 1986 as a sales engineer for Hicklin Power.

He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Navy and had been active in Masonic circles.

He is survived by his wife, Helen; two daughters, Linda Westergaard and Carol Shannon, both of Des Moines; two sons, Gary of West Des Moines and Mike of Des Moines; two sisters, Mary Dean and Pauline Phipps, both of Grinnell; two brothers, Miles of Brooklyn and Paul of Grinnell; and eight grandchildren.
