CHRISTOPHER J. RISDAL

Christopher J. Risdal, 21, of 1221 Main St., Grinnell, died Saturday, Oct. 30, at his home. The death has been ruled a suicide.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Grinnell Christian Church, with the Rev. John Epperson officiating. Organist will be Alice Renaud, and pallbearers will be Mark, Scott, Gary and Loren Ashby, Jimmie and John Howerton, Kent Morrison and Shad Sisson.

Burial will be in the McCallsburg Cemetery, with the Smith Funeral Home of Grinnell in charge of arrangements.

The son of Bruce and Linda Parker Risdal, he was born Sept. 9, 1972, in Ames. He was raised in Grinnell and graduated from Grinnell High School in 1991. He was enrolled at Marshalltown Community College. While attending Grinnell High School, he was a member of the baseball team.

Surviving are his parents, Bruce D. Risdal of Council Bluffs and Linda Bailey of Grinnell; four brothers, Mark, Scott, Gary and Loren Ashby, all of Davenport; his paternal grandfather, David Risdal of Story City; and his maternal grandmother, Margaret L. Howerton of Marshalltown.
