ROBERT PULS

Robert Dale Puls, 73, of Grinnell died Sunday, Oct. 20, at Grinnell Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Herb Knudten Jr., pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, officiating. Organist was Teresa Ziegenmeyer.

Pallbearers were Arnold Baetsle, Chuck Burnham, Jack Collum, Dean Douglas, Mel Rummelhart and Danny Slagle. Honorary bearers were Art Grosenbach, Randy Juhl, Grover Loftin, Kenneth "Kutter" Paul, Jim Rose and Preston Shaw.

Burial was in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.

The son of Elmer and Sylvia Baustian Puls, he was born Dec. 10, 1922, in Malcom Township. He received his education in the Malcom School District.

He was married to Donna Maron Dec. 26, 1949, in Grinnell, and the couple farmed in the Grinnell area for many years. They were divorced in 1974. Mr. Puls later worked for Miracle Recreation Equipment Co., retiring in 1985. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge.

Surviving are two brothers, Shirley and Wayne, both of Grinnell, and three sisters, Theresa Schultz, Norma Griffin and Ruth Hasselbrink, all of Grinnell. He was preceded in death by his parents.
