MARY PULS SERVICES HELD

Mary M. Puls, 95, of Rte. 1, Malcom, died Monday, Aug. 31, at Friendship Manor.

Funeral services were conducted at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Trinity Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Gerald Brown officiating. Organist was Teresa Ziegenmeyer. Pallbearers were her grandsons, Melvin Puls, Ray Puls, Jim Puls, Dick Puls, Dale Puls, Joe Puls, Roger Puls and Rick Puls.

Burial was in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, with the Smith Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the church and sent in care of the funeral home.

The daughter of Nick and Anna Kuhle Fogel, she was born on Oct. 9, 1891, near Malcom. She attended rural school in Madison Township north of Malcom. On Feb. 20, 1909, she was married to John Fredrick Christian Puls at Toledo. The couple farmed in the Malcom area. Mrs. Puls was a lifelong member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and was a member of the Ladies Aid.

She is survived by her children, Louis of Grinnell, Wilma Tharp of Marion, and John Jr. and James, both of rural Malcom; 24 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents, one son, Raymond L.; two grandchildren; one sister, Theresa Puls; and one brother, William Fogel.
