LENA FOGEL

Lena Fogel, 94, of New Sharon, formerly of Malcom, died of Alzheimer's disease Saturday, March 21, at the New Sharon Care Center.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Ivy Hill Cemetery, Malcom, with the Rev. Gerald Brown, pastor of the Trinity Lutheran Church, officiating. The Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

She was the daughter of George and Mary Glixner Fogel and was born Aug. 6, 1897, in Malcom. She was raised in Malcom and received her education in rural schools. She lived in the Malcom area until 1984, then moved to Montezuma. She had lived in New Sharon since 1988.

Surviving are a granddaughter, two great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, George, John, Adam and Benjamin Fogel; and three sisters, Rose and Mae Fogel and Margaret Ackerman.
