KEITH WORTHY

Keith "Fire" Worthy, 73, of 932 Park St., Grinnell, died of congestive heart failure Monday, April 13, at Grinnell Regional Medical Center.

A graveside service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Hazelwood Cemetery, with the Rev. Judy Wadding, associate pastor of the Grinnell United Methodist Church, officiating. Graveside rites will be conducted by the Grinnell Veterans Ceremonial Unit. The Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

The family will be present at the funeral home from noon to 1:30 p.m. Friday.

He was the son of Herbert E. and J. Ellen Brubaker Worthy and was born March 31, 1925, in Oskaloosa. The family moved to Grinnell, and he graduated from Grinnell High School in 1942. During World War II, he served with the U.S. Marine Corps in the Pacific theater. Following the war, he returned to Grinnell and worked for various construction companies.

Surviving are one brother, Curtis of Burlington, and six sisters, Marjorie Cloyed of Ottumwa, Vivian Hance of Pella, Francene Sears of Grinnell, Charlotte Rudkin of Wichita, Kan., Adah Hunziker of Sully and Donna Holland of Galesburg, Ill.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Robert; and twin sisters, Darlene and Arlene Worthy.
