GERALD E. WANG

Gerald E. Wang, 76, of 930 Seeland Drive, Grinnell, died Monday, Oct. 25, of a heart attack at Grinnell Regional Medical Center.

A memorial service will be held Friday, Oct. 29, at 10:30 a.m. at Smith Funeral Home with the Rev. William Reynolds, pastor of St. Mary's Catholic Church, officiating. Cremation will follow the service. Memorials may be made to the Grinnell Elks Lodge or St. Mary's Catholic Church.

He was born Oct. 16, 1923, in Poweshiek County near Brooklyn, the son of Erwin and Frances Musel Wang. He was a veteran of the United States Army Air Force during World War II, serving in the Pacific Theater.

He was married on Aug. 15, 1948, in Brooklyn to Janice Todd. They farmed near Malcom until 1985 moving to Malcom in 1979, and to Grinnell in 1994.

He was a member of the Grinnell Elks Lodge, Grinnell American Legion, and Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He is survived by his wife Janice of Grinnell; one daughter Jeri Lou Bogue of Malcom; one son, Jim Wang of Malcom; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter Pam Bryan.
