DORIS J. JONES

Doris Jo Ann Jones, 71, of 603 Eleventh Ave., Grinnell, died of a heart attack Tuesday, Nov. 14, on Lookout Mountain near Chattanooga, Tenn.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Lon Lewis, pastor of the Grinnell United Methodist Church, officiating. Organist was Margaret Wheeler, and pallbearers were Stephan Jones, Michael Mayhew, Dean McClelland and Thomas O'Brien.

Burial was in Hazelwood Cemetery.

The daughter of Harlan R. and Nellie J. Furber Inman, she was born Aug. 12, 1924, in Grinnell. She was a 1942 graduate of Grinnell High School.

She wsas married to Russell State, who was later killed in World War II. During the war, she worked in a production factory in San Diego, Calif.

On May 5, 1946, she was married to Harold L. Jones in Des Moines. The couple lived in Grinnell.

Mrs. Jones is surived by her husband; one son, Stephan Jones of Watertown, Minn.; three daughters, Karla Mayhew of Minnetonka, Minn., and Lynda and Katherine Jones, both of Grinnell; two grandchildren; and one sister, Dorothy O'Brien of Tavernier, Fla.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband and one sister, Wilma Inman.
