MRS. E.B. JONES FUNERAL HELD HERE SUNDAY

The funeral of Mrs. Ernest B. Jones was held in the Baptist church Sunday afternoon with Rev. W.J. Stewart in charge. Mrs. Jones died Thursday evening after an illness. The pallbearers were Harold Bartman, Ole Bartman, Harold Jones, Carl Jones and Clifford Jones. Burial was made in Hazelwood cemetery.

Gittalie Christiana Larson was born in Oslo, Norway, Jan. 24, 1893, and quite unexpectedly met her death in Grinnell Aug. 11, 1932. In 1907 she came to the United States and settled in Grinnell, which has been her home ever since. On March 3, 1913, she was married to Ernest B. Jones of Grinnell and had become the mother of five children, all of whom are at home: Alfred, Dorothy, Max, Kenneth and Ernest, Jr.

Before coming to this country she was confirmed in the Lutheran church of Norway. Soon after coming to Grinnell she placed her membership in the Baptist church where she had ever continued faithful to her covenant vows. Her life was marked by such a quiet devotion to her family that her husband and children alike, rise up to call her blessed.

Her parents preceded her in death. Besides her husband and children, one sister, Mrs. Ole Bartman of Nappanee, Ind., and one brother, Taigwa Larson of Oslo, Norway, survive her.
