CECIL D. JUDY RITES CONDUCTED

Cecil D. Judy, 90, of Newton, formerly of Grinnell, died Sunday, Oct. 30, at Nelson Manor Nursing Home in Newton.

Funeral services were conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church in Newton, with the Rev. Jerry Brown officiating. Burial was in Hazelwood Cemetery, Grinnell.

The son of Meyers and Laura Baird Judy, he was born Oct. 25, 1898, at Blockton. He graduated from Blockton schools. He had been a resident of Newton since 1947. Mr. Judy had worked for Marshall Hardware in Newton.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and Jasper County Senior Citizens.

He is survived by his wife, Sarah; one daughter, Vivian Craig of Oakland Acres; four grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and 10 step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Gail; an infant daughter, Clyda Bell; three brothers and one sister.
