PEARL JELSMA RITES TODAY

Pearl Jelsma, 75, a Poweshiek County native, died Sunday, Nov. 18, at Lynwood, Calif.

The daughter of John and Mary E. Heisel Parker, she was born on the family farm in Washington Township in the Oak Grove area. She attended the rural schools and was married to Fred Plum, who died in 1919. She later married Charles Jelsma. She had lived in California the past 30 years.

Mrs. Jelsma is survived by three sons, Paul Plum of Oklahoma and Earl and Lou Jelsma of California; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three nieces, Mrs. Harold Thompson of Montezuma, Mrs. Herchel Griffith of Malcom, and Mrs. Merle Lamb of Grinnell. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Clifford and Rudolph Parker; and one sister, Mrs. Hazel Morrison.

Funeral services for Mrs. Jelsma were held Wednesday, Nov. 21, at Green Hills Funeral Home, San Pedro, Calif.
