DIES AT HOME

Ardie Anderson, 65, of Rte. 1, Grinnell, died early Wednesday morning at his home.

The son of John and Sophia Ellen Wickless Anderson, he was born Jan. 12, 1903, at Summerville, Ore.

On Aug. 18, 1923, Mr. Anderson married Jettie Minear at Palmyra, Mo. Following their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Anderson lived on a farm near Glenwod, Mo., until they came to the Grinnell area to farm in 1939. They have lived in Washington Township since 1946.

Mr. Anderson loved the out-of-doors and was fond of his dogs which were trained for fox hunting.

Survivors include his wife, Jettie; one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Martha Ellen) Hall of Knoxville; two sons, Richard E. Anderson of Rte. 1, Grinnell, and Bill J. Anderson of Rock Island, Ill.; seven grandchildren - Connie, Diane and Elaine Hall of Knoxville, and Billie Jean, Sonja, Janie Sue, and Charles Ardell Anderson of Rock Island; one brother, Ralph Anderson of Lebandon, Mo.; and one sister, Mrs. Fred Alsdorf of Chula Vista, Calif.

Mr. Anderson was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Edward.

Funeral services for Mr. Anderson will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 8, at the Smith Funeral Home with Elder Charles Klatt, assistant pastor of the Seventh Day Adventist church in Des Moines, officiating.

Organist will be Mrs. Leonard Pearce. Pallbearers will be Earl Beyer, Glenn Dexter, Teunis DeRuiter, Raymond Koger, Clarence Van Wyk and Donald Sarver. Honorary pallbearers will be Lester Adkins, Edwin Lincoln, Allan Moyer and Virgil Doud. Flower bearers will be Mrs. Teunis DeRuiter, Mrs. Earl Beyer and Mrs. Glenn Dexter.

Burial will be in Hazelwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home.
