JETTIE ANDERSON

Jettie Anderson, 84, of Grinnell died Wednesday, June 12, at Grinnell General Hospital.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday, June 15, at the Smith Funeral Home, with Wilbert Dale, pastor of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, officiating. Organist was Margaret Wheeler.

Pallbearers were Connie Sue Harris, Diane Varner, Elaine Baumgarten, Jeanie Heap, Sonja Lynette Wynn, Jamie Sue Wardlow and Charles Ardell Anderson. Burial was in Hazelwood Cemetery.

The daughter of Fred and Martha Ann Carpenter Minear, she was born Sept. 28, 1906, near Omaha, Mo. She attended Fowler School near the family farm.

She was married to Ardie Anderson Aug. 18, 1923, in Palmyra, Mo. The couple farmed in Missouri until 1939 when they moved to the Grinnell area. They farmed in Washington Township. Following her husband's death in 1968, Mrs. Anderson moved to Grinnell and worked as a housekeeper at the Mayflower Home.

She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church and the Blue Point Friendship Club.

Surviving are her children, Martha Ellen Hall of Knoxville and Bill Anderson of Milan, Ill.; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Rex Minear of Grinnell and Guy Minear of Livonia, Mo.; and her sister, Dorothy Engelbarts of Malcom.
