RONALD MINEAR

Ronald L. Minear, 57, of 103 Third Ave., Grinnell, died of cancer Monday, May 19, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center.

Funeral services were conducted Friday at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Keith Briggs, pastor of the First Friends Church of Grinnell, officiating. Organist was Alice Renaud, and vocalist was Rhonda Minner. Casket bearers were Vince Ehlert, Keith Harvey, Ron Jones, Mark, Lloyd, Jerry Minner and Steve Tindle.

Burial was in Hazelwood Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Adult Oncology Unit of Iowa Methodist Medical Center.

He was the son of Loyd and Thelma Noel Minear and was born March 14, 1940 at Unionville, Mo. The family moved to Grinnell where he was raised and graduated from Grinnell High School in 1958.

He was married to Betty "Jake" Galbreaith Nov. 15, 1958 at Jefferson. The couple lived in Grinnell where he worked for the past 35 years with the Department of Transportation, retiring in 1995.

He is survived by his wife; his mother; one daughter, Teresa Hawk of Grinnell; one son, Marty of Robins; four grandchildren; one sister, Donna Pattschull of Newton; and one brother, Jerry of Fort Wayne, Ind.

He was preceded in death by his father.
