REX MINEAR

Rex Junior Minear, 76, of Friendship Manor died Tuesday, Dec. 15, at Grinnell General Hospital.

Funeral services were conducted Dec. 18 at the Smith Funeral Home, with Tim Henry, pastor of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, officiating. Organist was Margaret Wheeler, and pallbearers were Dennis Engelbarts, Bob Hall, Fred Minear, Marty Minear, Gary Pattscull and Verl Snook. Burial was in Hazelwood Cemetery.

The son of Fred and Martha Ann Carpenter Minear, he was born July 17, 1916, near Omaha, Mo. He moved with his family to Rock Creek Township and attended rural school.

He farmed for many years with his parents in the Grinnell area. He later moved with them to Grinnell where he helped care for them and ran a lawn-mowing service. Following the death of his parents he lived with his sister and at various care facilities.

He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Surviving are a brother, Guy of Livonia, Mo., and one sister, Dorothy Engelbarts of Malcom. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Loyd; and a sister, Jettie Anderson.
