LOYD MINEAR SERVICES HELD

Loyd W. Minear, 65, of 1517 Eighth Ave., Grinnell, died Monday afternoon at Grinnell General Hospital.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Smith Funeral Home, with Norman Rasmussen, pastor of the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Knoxville, officiating. Music was provided by Mrs. Willard Heffner, organist, and Mrs. Wayne Dayton, vocalist. Pallbearers were Wayne Dayton, Harvey Marcum, Robert McMeekin, Bruce Miller, Lester W. Osborn, and Arlo Worth.

Burial was at Hazelwood Cemetery. Should friends desire, memorials in Mr. Minear's name may be left at the Smith Funeral Home.

The son of Fred and Martha Carpenter Minear, he was born April 30, 1911, near Livonia, Mo. He attended rural school near his home and also attended Unionville High School.

On Feb. 24, 1934, he was married to Thelma E. Noel at Lancaster, Mo. The couple had three children. Following their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Minear lived in Unionville and Kansas City, Kan., before moving to Grinnell in 1947. Mr. Minear was employed for 21 years at the Grinnell Implement Store as a parts man. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Thelma; his children, Mrs. Gary (Donna) Pattschull of Newton; Jerry Minear of Grinnell; and Ronald Minear of Grinnell; eight grandchildren; two brothers, Guy Minear of Livonia, Mo., and Rex Minear of Malcom; and two sisters, Mrs. Ardie (Jettie) Anderson of Grinnell and Mrs. Earl (Dorothy) Englebarts of Malcom. He was preceded in death by his parents.
