RITES TODAY FOR MR. GALBRAITH

Floyd M. Galbraith, 64, of 1027 Summer St., Grinnell, died of an apparent heart attack at his home Friday morning, June 25.

Funeral services were conducted at 10:30 a.m. today at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Daniel Ogata, pastor of the First United Presbyterian Church, officiating. Organist was Kathleen Heffner. Pallbearers were Randy Galbraith, Jeff Matherly, Jody Matherly, James Moore, James Velkavrh and David White. Honorary bearers were David Abarr, Frank Brown, John W. Hall, Lane Logsdon and Bill Werneburg.

Burial was at the Jackson Township Cemetery, Montezuma. Memorials in Mr. Galbraith's name may be made to the coronary care unit at Grinnell General Hospital.

The son of Joseph and Lillian Conn Galbraith, he was born May 24, 1918, near Keswick. He graduated from high school at Gibson in 1936.

Mr. Galbraith had farmed and later owned a grocery store at Deep River. He came to Grinnell in 1957 and was employed as a production man at All Star Dairy. He later worked with Anderson-Erickson Dairy and in recent years served as fieldman for the company. He was a member of the Deep River Presbyterian Church and was past president of the Grinnell Eagles Lodge, Aerie 2545.

Survivors include is wife, Elvera; his children, Sharon Matherly of South Houston, Texas, Betty Jo Minear of Grinnell, Timothy Galbraith of Marshalltown, and a stepson, Robert D. Johannes of Dickenson, Texas; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandson; two sisters, Lucille Melton of Salina, Kan.; and Maxine Velkavrh of Tinley Park, Ill.; and two brothers, Lester Galbraith of Montezuma and Joseph Galbraith Jr. of Keswick.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Josephine Galbraith.
