PAULINE HART RITES MONDAY

Pauline Wherry Hart, 65, of 90 Fourth Ave., Grinnell, died of cancer Thursday, April 4, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Hazelwood Cemetery, with the Rev. Daniel I. Ogata of the First Presbyterian Church officiating. Pallbearers will be Marty Minear, Jody Matherly, Jeff Matherly, Mike Wherry, Bob Hunter and David Lowry.

Memorials in Mrs. Hart's name may be left at the Smith Funeral Home.

The daughter of Grant and Neva Johnson Wherry, she was born June 8, 1919, at Guernsey. She later moved with her family to Deep River and graduated from Deep River High School.

On Dec. 10, 1938, she was married to Floyd Galbraith at Oskaloosa. She moved to Grinnell in 1958 where she was employed at the Eagles Club and later, Grinnell College. In the early 1970s she was married to Alex Hart at Flint, Mich.

Mrs. Hart was a member of the Grinnell American Legion Auxiliary and the Eagles Auxiliary.

She is survived by her children, Sharon Matherly of Houston, Texas, Betty Jo "Jake" Minear of Grinnell and Tim Galbraith of Odessa, Texas; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her stepmother, Edna Wherry; and her brother, Merrill "Mike" Wherry.
