EDNA WHERRY SERVICES TODAY

Edna L. Wherry, 80, of Grinnell died Monday, Nov. 26, at St. Francis Manor.

Graveside services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. today at Hazelwood Cemetery, with the Rev. Daniel I. Ogata, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Pallbearers will be Bo Battey, John Craig, Harold Jones, David Lowry, Ron Minear and Mike Wherry.

The daughter of Wilbur and Rosa Kinzler Bradley, she was born March 29, 1904, at Guernsey. She moved to Grinnell with her family in 1906 and was a graduate of Grinnell High School. She was employed as a telephone operator with the former Interior Telephone Co. here.

In April 1947 she was married to Grant O. Wherry in Grinnell. Following their marriage they lived in Deep River. Mr. Wherry died in 1964, and she returned to Grinnell.

Mrs. Wherry was a member of the Presbyterian churches in Deep River and Grinnell. She was a past president of the Grinnell American Legion Auxiliary and a past noble grand of the Rebekah Lodge here.

Survivors include her children, Merrill Wherry of Oakland Acres and Pauline Hart of Grinnell; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Ruth Inman of Grinnell.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four sisters, Mary Bradley, Minnie Bischos, Emma Seiberth and Etta Moore; and three brothers, Frank, George and Henry Bradley.
