NOBLE CHESTER LADY PASSES AWAY

Words of Praise and Appreciation From Pastor, Rev. H.L. Wissler.

In the passing of Mrs. I.A. Bean, Chester Township has lost one of its most beloved women.

Mrs. Bean was born Kathryn Dimit near Keota, Ia., Mar. 29th, 1849. She died at her home in Chester, Sept. 17, 1926, aged 77 yrs., 5 mos. and 8 days.

December 21, 1876 she was united in marriage to I.A. Bean. To them were born two sons and two daughters, Ralph Bean of Hansen, Idaho; Mrs. Geo. Hafkey of Chester; Oliver Bean of Chester, and Pearl Bean at home.

Mrs. Bean was a splendid Christian woman. A sweet souled mother, a dutiful and self sacrificing companion and a helpful and symathetic neighbor. Her ears were ever open to the cry of sick or needy.

She was a busy woman in her home and about her own duties, but never too busy or too tired to hasten to the bedside of a sick neighbor or friend. She was one of those souls who forgot herself, and like the Master whom she loved and followed, she lived to serve others. One who well knew her kindly spirit said of her, "She was a real mother." She was never known to complain.

That splendid Christian spirit and unfaltering faith which began in her childhood, held through to the end.

When yet quite young she united with the United Presbyterian Church and after her marriage, with Chester Congregational Church, to which she was faithful till called to the home above.

She leaves to mourn her loss her husband and four children and many friends, who remember her as a symathetic, loving neighbor and friend.

The funeral services were held from the George Hafkey home conducted by her pastor, Rev. H.L. Wissler last Sunday afternoon and interment was made in the Chester Cemetery.
