LANDON HULL

Landon Hull, 90, of Searsboro died Thursday, June 4, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

Funeral services for Landon Hull were held at 10:30 a.m. today (Monday) at the Searsboro Community Church, with the Rev. Don Job officiating. Organist was Joyce James and vocalists were Roy and Diane James. Pallbearers included Rob Baker, Rick Halstead, Darryl Hull, Russell James, Vernon Northcutt and Larry Willemsen.

Burial was in Woodland Cemetery in Lynnville.

He was born on March 26, 1914, in Taintor, Iowa, the son of Jacob Dewey and Marjorie Mae Lunt Hull. He was raised in that area and attended rural schools near his home.

On Feb. 16, 1938, he married Ruth Opal James in Lacey, Iowa. The couple farmed in Mahaska County prior to moving to their farm home in Poweshiek County in 1949, where they farmed for the last 55 years.

He was a faithful member of the Searsboro Community Church.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth, of Grinnell; a daughter, Judy Beyer of Grinnell; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and eight brothers and sisters; Harold Hull, Susa Northcutt, Arthold Hull, Freeda Taylor, Velva McDowell, Carl Hull, Lola Meredith and Greeta Hull.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Searsboro Community Church.
